Keystone Exam Retake Window
Description
Keystone Exam Retake Information
Summer Testing Window: July 29-31
The Pine-Richland School District recently received the preliminary results of the Keystone Exams taken in the May 2014 testing window. We wanted to communicate immediately and directly with families if the results indicated a student’s score was not at the proficient level. State regulations in Pennsylvania require that students must score at the proficient or advanced level on each of the Keystone Exams as a high school graduation requirement (i.e., Algebra 1, Literature, and Biology).
The schedule for Keystone Exams is:
Algebra 1 |
TUE, JULY 29 8:00 AM-12:30 PM |
STEAM LGI |
Literature | WED, JULY 30 8:00 AM-12:30 PM |
STEAM LGI |
Biology | THU, JULY 31 8:00 AM-12:30 PM |
STEAM LGI |
The district is required to offer students the opportunity to retake Keystone Exams over the summer, but participation in the summer retake is voluntary. The testing window for summer retakes is scheduled for next week at the high school. Since the timing of receiving the results does not allow the opportunity for supplemental instruction, we suggest that students wait until the winter testing window. This will provide school personnel adequate time to plan and deliver supplemental instruction.
If your child would like to retake one or more of the Keystone Exams please contact the high school no later than Monday, July 28th. Email or call Mrs. Kathy Morrow, high school secretary, at kmorrow@pinerichland.org or 724-625-4444, ext. 1600. Knowing which students will be testing is critical to the advance preparation necessary for test administration.
